It is very easy to tip over on ramps and sloped surfaces whether the forklift is loaded or unloaded.

When driving on ramps with a grade of 10 percent or more with a loaded FL, you must always keep the load uphill, even if it means driving in reverse down the ramp.

It is acceptable to smoke cigarettes when changing propane tanks.

If the vehicle has a seat belt but will only be operated on smooth concrete it is not required to be used.

Tractor‐trailers’ wheels always need to be chocked prior to loading/unloading.

The distance between wheels is the only factor in determining the stability pyramid.

Pre‐check inspections should be completed at the start of the work shift, this inspection should be documented and the records retained.

Unattended forklifts should keep the forks up so they are not a tripping hazard.
