OSHA-Compliant Online Training for Greater Los Angeles
The Los Angeles basin and Inland Empire form the largest logistics market in North America. The Ports of LA and Long Beach handle 40% of all US containerized imports, while the Inland Empire’s endless rows of distribution centers support the nation’s supply chain. Certified forklift operators across this 13-million person mega-region command some of the highest wages in the country.
From unloading containers at the nation’s busiest port complex to stocking fulfillment centers in the Inland Empire, forklift operators are the backbone of Southern California’s logistics economy. California’s higher minimum wage and cost of living translate to premium pay rates, with experienced operators at port terminals and cold storage facilities earning well above the national average.

Get Certified Now — $58 →Los Angeles employers and operators fall under California’s own state plan, Cal/OSHA, whose powered industrial truck rule (Title 8 §3668) governs forklift training rather than federal OSHA. Under that rule a complete certification requires three parts: formal instruction, hands-on practical training, and a workplace evaluation of the operator on the specific truck and site.
Few US cities move more freight than Los Angeles. The neighboring Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach form the largest container port complex in the country, feeding a constant flow of forklift work through the San Pedro and Wilmington harbor areas and the drayage yards that surround them. From there, goods pour into one of the nation’s densest warehousing and distribution footprints, with heavy industrial concentrations in Vernon, the City of Commerce, and the corridors leading toward the Inland Empire. Beyond logistics, forklift operators are needed across LA’s aerospace and defense manufacturing, its film and studio production-logistics operations, the Downtown garment and Fashion District, general manufacturing, and large-scale food and cold-storage distribution. Warehouse associates, dock workers, and material handlers across all of these sectors are routinely expected to hold a current forklift certification.
Our $58 online course covers the formal-instruction portion of Cal/OSHA certification. It takes about an hour, works on any phone, tablet, or computer, and issues a certificate valid for three years across the US, Canada, and Mexico. Because §3668 also requires hands-on skills training and an on-site evaluation, your Los Angeles employer completes that practical step in the workplace. Employers who need to certify a crew can use our Train-and-Certify kit to deliver and document the hands-on evaluation for their operators.
