Start Certification — $58 →Arkansas does not operate its own OSHA-approved State Plan. Private-sector workplaces across the state fall under federal OSHA, administered locally by the OSHA Little Rock Area Office, which covers all 75 Arkansas counties. That means forklift operators in Arkansas are certified under the federal Powered Industrial Truck standard, 29 CFR 1910.178(l) — there is no separate Arkansas license or state-specific card.
Federal OSHA requires every powered industrial truck operator to complete a three-part training program before operating a lift on the job:
The employer must document the training with a written record that includes the operator’s name, the training and evaluation dates, and the name of the person who conducted the training and evaluation. OSHA also requires training to be tailored to each truck type and to the conditions of the worksite.
OSHA requires each operator to be re-evaluated at least once every three years. A refresher and a new evaluation are also required sooner if the operator is involved in an accident or near-miss, is observed operating unsafely, is assigned a different type of truck, or if conditions in the workplace change.
Our $58 online OSHA forklift course delivers the formal instruction portion of the requirement. It takes about one hour, works on any phone, tablet, or computer, and issues a certificate valid for three years across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Because OSHA requires hands-on practical training and a workplace evaluation on the actual equipment, the employer completes those final steps — and our employer Train-and-Certify kit provides the checklists and evaluation forms to document them and close out the record.
From Walmart’s Bentonville headquarters and its sprawling retail distribution network to Tyson Foods poultry plants in Springdale, J.B. Hunt’s trucking operations in Lowell, Big River Steel in Osceola, and warehouse and agricultural sites around Little Rock, Fayetteville, and Fort Smith, Arkansas runs on forklifts — and on operators who are trained and certified to OSHA’s standard.
